Tottenham continue their Premier League title pursuit on Monday night looking to close the gap between themselves and table-toppers Leicester to five points with a victory over West Brom at White Hart Lane.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men have W4-D1-L0 in their last five with a 1-1 draw at Liverpool the only fixture they’ve failed to record three points in – Bournemouth, Aston Villa, Manchester United and Stoke have all been swept aside ‘to nil’ and by at least two clear goals.
Spurs were outstanding when thumping Stoke 4-0 last Monday night and previous last two games at the Lane have ended in comfortable 3-0 victories with Harry Kane playing a key role in all. The England striker now has eight goals in his last six games, including three braces.
Kane has now notched 45 Premier League goals since the start of last season, second only to Sergio Aguero’s 49. So, if like me, you fancy the Lilywhites to pick up maximum points here, it’s worth finding a Kane angle to go alongside our selection, such as the attractive 4.50 on Kane scoring in a 2-0, 3-0 or 3-1 win.
The wheels have come off West Brom’s season since confirming survival as the Baggies have collected just a solitary point from a possible 15. Tony Pulis’ men have netted more than one goal just twice in 17 on their travels and failed to even land a shot-on-target in seven of their matches already this season.
Only relegated Aston Villa have scored fewer than West Brom’s 31 and over the past five seasons, WBA have W2-D3-L17 travelling to top-four finishers. With W1-D5-L6 in their last 12 on their travels, failing to net in 13 of their 34 outings in 2015/16 and Spurs looking every inch title contenders, I’m expecting a comfortable home win.
