Murray of course is the favourite for this match. He has progressed through the tournament without any real difficulties, easily beating Nick Kyrgios. However, he had serious problems in dealing with Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in their five set match. It was a proper battle and the Frenchman showed good resistance against the Brit – this surprised me.
Berdych plays in a similar fashion to Tsonga in the way he hits powerfully from the baseline whilst his serve is also very good. It has been said that Murray has not yet shown his top form so it is impossible to guarantee that Murray will be able to keep his concentration throughout this semi-final.
I liked the look of Berdych in his match with Pouille, he seemed very calm and collected so the Frenchman stood little chance as Berdych made very few errors. Of course this match against Murray will be more difficult and Andy is the favourite, but, I do not believe Murray will have an easy time against the Czech on grass. Their head-to-head record currently stands at 8:6 in favour of Murray but these two have never faced each other on grass. I think Berdych will compete well thus we should see plenty of tennis played between these two. Over 35.5 games is the way to play this one.
