France are one of the teams who’ve already made it through to the knockout rounds, but, despite progressing after just two games, two their wins weren’t the most convincing and they look far from the finished article. First they were lucky to defeat Romania (2:1) with Payet’s late 89-minute goal. Then both of their goals vs Albania came at the death on 90 and 96 minutes (2:0). Paul Pogba still can’t find the confidence to rule the midfield, and Didier Deschamps is uncertain about the starting XI as he benched both Pogba and Griezmann for the second game.
The Swiss have shown their quality despite drawing against Romania. Granit Xhaka leads the team which need only one point to secure second place in the Group A. And France also can be satisfied with one point to top the table. Here we have a situation where a draw is safe for both teams and thus we could be in for a somewhat low-key affair. Both sides, if they choose to, can field a number of reserve players to rest their leading stars ahead of the last 16. A draw at 7/4 looks a good bet.
