I’ve been to the Andalusian derbies both at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan and Benito Villamarin. The entourage of these matches is absolutely stunning, emotions are running wild, the players are charged with energy from the crowd and intense atmosphere never stops. Not surprisingly, you can see not only a lot of cards, but also crushing defeats. One could remember the epic match in April 2013, when Sevilla were winning 3-0 after half an hour of play, but Betis were able to turn things around and steal a draw.
Of the last four derbies at home, Sevilla won 4:0, 5:1 and 4:0. Another trend – Betis didn’t score in the last five derbies either – 0:2, 0:2, 0:0, 0:2 and 0:4. I’d bet on Sevilla now, too. Sevilla are much stronger and will no doubt have a huge desire to please their home fans.
