Real Madrid vs Sevilla predictions for this Liga Santander clash on Sunday at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. Real Madrid and Sevilla play the big game of the week in the Spanish league; if Madrid win they will increase the distance between themselves and Sevilla in the standings, but the inverse will allow Sevilla to overtake Madrid. Read on for our free predictions and betting tips.
Real Madrid
Game after game, Madrid are becoming more and more of a complete team and know how to close out games with greater ease, as was seen in their last game, against Granada, in which they won comfortably (4-1).
With nine wins, three draws, and just one defeat, Madrid lead the standings. Madrid’s matches have had a total of 46 total goals, an average of 3.5 total goals per match, a fairly high average.
This season it has become clear that Madrid’s two main pillars are Karim Benzema and Vinicius Junior. If both keep up this level, it will be much easier for Madrid to win the league title this season.
Sevilla
This is a very important game for Sevilla, as, if they want to stay alive in the fight for the league title, they have to beat Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu. The Andalusian side come into the game at their most defensively fragile point of the season.
With only nine goals conceded in 13 games, Sevilla remain the second best team in terms of defence. They are also the second best team defensively when playing away, having conceded just three goals in seven games.
Sevilla have not won at Santiago Bernabeu since 2008, and have suffered one draw and 13 defeats since then.
Real Madrid are the best team in the league right now. Offensively they are the best as long as Vinicius and Benzema maintain the high level they have shown so far, and defensively they have also improved. Considering they are playing at home and against a Sevilla team that have had some problems in their last few games, we think Real Madrid will win this game. We don’t think they will win by much though.
