One of the main secrets of this season in Spain is why Real Betis are so bad at home. The Sevillians sold more than 40 000 season tickets and now have full support at Benito Villamarin. They are pretty good in away games (only Barcelona, Celta Vigo, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid have more away points). But at home, they are awful – only 10 points from 11 games. They have the worst home stats in La Liga. Real Betis have just two home wins – against David Moyes’ Real Sociedad and against Gary Neville’s Valencia. Is that coincidence?
Real Betis defeated Sporting Gijon in December in Copa del Rey (2:0) and now they have all chances to win again. The abnormal home losses must come to the end. They already have positive dynamics in their last two home games: they first defeated Valencia (1:0) and then stole a point against Real Madrid (1:1).
Sporting Gijon played against Barcelona at midweek, but fielded a lot of reserve players. So their leaders are now ready to play. But even with that, Real Betis must make their fans happy.
