Kyrgios is having a great season. This year he played in the Wimbledon final for the first time in his career. In addition, Nick triumphed in Washington, where he defeated Nishioka in the final. We expect only a productive performance from the Australian on the Tokyo courts.
Kyrgios has been performing well this year. Nick has reached the Wimbledon finals this season, won in Washington and reached the quarter-finals at Montreal and the US Open. The Aussie is expected to play no worse in Tokyo.
Kyrgios will play for the first time since the US Open, where he managed to reach the quarterfinals.
He was unlikely to be happy with the result in New York. After a huge win over Daniil Medvedev (7-6, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2) in the 1/8, Nick lost his next match against Karen Khachanov (5-7, 6-4, 5-7, 7-6, 4-6).
Kyrgios won the tournament in Washington in early August before reaching the quarter-finals in Montreal.
In terms of the North American series, Kyrgios’ worst performance was at the Masters in Cincinnati. Nick lost to Taylor Fritz (3-6, 2-6) in the second round.
Kyrgios is ranked 20th in the current ATP rankings.
Kyrgios has won his last 25 consecutive matches as a clear favourite.
Tseng, meanwhile, has recently established himself in the top 100. He is currently ranked 87th in the world rankings.
The Taiwanese tennis player made it one round in Seoul last week. After beating Christopher O’Connell (6-4, 0-0, walkover), he lost to Aleksandar Kovacevic (6-7, 7-6, 2-6).
Tseng did not have much success in the first half on two clay Challengers, winning a total of only one match.
That said, it’s worth adding that Tseng won one match each in Los Cabos and Winston-Salem.
Tseng has lost four of his last six matches on hard court.
In Tseng’s last 5 matches, more than 9.5 games have been played in the first set. We offer to bet on “1st Set Games – Over 9.5” with odds of 1.92.
