Both teams to score

There is a high chance that both sides will score in this match. West Ham and Southampton are the only sides in the top ten to concede more than Manchester United’s 32 goals, while only Norwich have conceded more than Leeds’ 46 goals this season.

Both teams scoring has occurred in 65% of Leeds’ matches and 60% of Man United’s.

Half-time/Full time – Draw/Man United

During Ralf Rangnick’s reign in charge of Man United, six of the Reds’ seven wins have been draws at half-time with Man United going on to clinch victory in the second half.

Handicap – Man United (-0.5)

Despite Leeds’ defensive frailties, the handicappers have handicapped generously in favour of Man United, meaning they just need to win by one goal for this bet to come in. The Reds have one of the better away records in the league winning five of their 12 away matches so far (5D 2L).

Preliminary review and match prediction for Leeds United vs Manchester United

Leeds is winless in their last three matches and with sides like Everton, Newcastle and Norwich behind them starting to pick points up, they’re in danger of being sucked into a relegation battle if things don’t improve.

A thrilling 3-3 draw away to Aston Villa is sandwiched by defeats to Newcastle and Everton, and Leeds are at the beginning of an unforgiving four game schedule where they face Liverpool, Tottenham, and Leicester after this.

Leeds’ Elland Road ground will host this top-flight match against Man United in front of fans for the first time in 18 years, the atmosphere will be raucous, and this could also spill onto the field.

A bet to consider could be for there to be 4-6 cards in the match at 2.15.

For all the talk of Man United’s struggles of late, they have still only lost one league match under Rangnick.

However, it is the inability to put away sides such as Southampton and Burnley that has the fans fearing they may not qualify for Champions League football.

Leeds would fall into the same category as Southampton and Burnley as must win games. Man United currently occupy fourth position and with the likes of Tottenham in freefall, this is a big opportunity for the Reds to make a statement.

Safe Bets

Only seven out of Man United’s 40 goals have come within the first 30 minutes and the Reds have gone into half-time level in 12 of their 25 matches so far this season.

The draw after 30 minutes is priced at 1.75 and looks likely.

Leeds United vs Manchester United Team News

Daniel James will face Man United for the first time after his summer switch. Junior Firpo is in line to return from injury immediately after Stuart Dallas was injured last week. Patrick Bamford, Liam Cooper and Kalvin Phillips are still unavailable.

Victor Lindelof may continue in central defence after Raphael Varane’s illness just before kick-off against Brighton. Man United face Atletico Madrid in the Champions League in midweek, this could prompt some changes to the line-up here with that in mind.

Possible Starting Lineups

Leeds United: Meslier, Ayling, Llorente, Struijk, Firpo, Forshaw, Koch, Raphinha, Rodrigo, Harrison, James

Manchester United: De Gea, Dalot, Lindelof, Maguire, Alex Telles, Fernandes, McTominay, Pogba, Rashford, Ronaldo, Sancho

Highlighted Player – Cristiano Ronaldo

The multiple time Ballon D’Or winner has come under fire of late. However, he scored his first goal of 2022 last time out and will be determined to add to his nine league goals so far this season.

Against a struggling Leeds defence, this could be an ideal time to kick start his season.
