These promotion contenders, both of whom have managers with no previous Championship experience, have made good starts to the campaign with Wolves second in the league whilst Hull sit in fifth after two matches.

Hull took a chance on former Russia boss Leonid Slutsky in the summer and so far it has worked out well with a respectable draw against Aston Villa in their opening match before battering Burton Albion 4-1 last time out. There is obviously a huge part of the season still left to go but Slutsky has a lot of winning experience from his time at CSKA and his Hull side should do well this campaign.

The number of goals scored so far (five) will no doubt be the most pleasing factor for Slutsky and an early season hat trick for Uruguayan striker Abel Hernandez should massively boost his confidence going into the rest of the campaign. However, seeing his side concede goals is not something that Slutsky is used to as his CSKA side were the best defensive team in Russia during his time there. Given his record, you would back Slutsky to fix Hull’s defensive problems over the coming weeks.

The new Tigers boss has embraced life in England and said that the most pleasing part of his side’s home victory against Burton Albion was when the fans asked him to wave. The locals have clearly taken to the 46-year-old and, after the apathetic atmosphere surrounding the club in the last couple of seasons, Slutsky’s arrival could be a turning point.

Although Hull have undoubtedly had a good start, Wolves have had an even better one with three victories in their first three competitive matches of the season.

Nuno’s side have been sublime at the back in their three games so far this term and are yet to concede a goal. However, they have scored over 1.5 goals on just one occasion this season and, coming up against a Hull side who are in good goalscoring form at the moment, Wolves will need to make sure they are more clinical on Tuesday night.

Wolves picked up a vital three points in their only away game of the campaign so far against fellow promotion hopefuls Derby County. However, they have been inconsistent on their travels in the last couple of years and have not recorded back-to-back away Championship wins in the same season since the Christmas period of the 2014/15 season.

With both of these sides being in decent form, I think we should be in for a good game as confidence will be running high in both camps. Hull matches have involved plenty of goals recently whilst Wolves will also fancy their chances against this Tigers backline. Furthermore, with both teams having scored in five of the last six meetings between these two, I think Both Teams to Score at Evens looks a solid bet here.
