For prediction on Getafe vs Barcelona, we say Barcelona to win and over 2.5 goals and this is why. Barcelona won four out of their five friendlies including wins over Tottenham, AC Milan and Real Madrid. Getting a win over Getafe shouldn’t be a big deal, although the hosts also had good pre-season. Three out of Barca’s five friendlies ended with over 2.5 goals and five out of Getafe’s seven friendlies ended similarly. As a result, the game finishing with at least three goals shouldn’t be a stretch.
We predict Barcelona to beat Getafe 3-1 and this is why. Although the Catalans kept three clean sheets out of five friendlies, we still believe they are unlikely to keep a clean sheet against the hosts. Getafe scored at least one goal in all but one of their friendlies. With Barcelona likely to be without Araujo, who was hauled off against Tottenham due to injury, Getafe’s chances of scoring have improved.
Getafe were near solid in pre-season, winning five of their seven friendly matches. However, their pre-season form will only make sense if they manage to get their new 2023/2024 La Liga season off to a winning start against the reigning champions, Barcelona.
Barcelona were superb in pre-season as well, after they won four of their five friendlies, including big wins over Tottenham and archrivals Real Madrid. The Catalans will only look to continue from where they left off last season when they play as visitors to Getafe on Sunday but it’s vital to know that they could be without centre-back Araujo, who was forced off with an injury in the first half against Tottenham.
