Fulham vs Burnley prediction for Monday’s round 35 of the English Premier League clash at Craven Cottage in London. A last-ditch attempt for Fulham to survive in the Premier League as they host the team just above them in the PL table Burnley. Follow on for our free prediction and betting tips.
Fulham needing a miracle to stay up
Just one point from their last six matches has made Fulham on the verge of relegation at the 18th place on the Premier League table. Mathematically, they have a chance to survive if they win the remaining four matches starting Monday against Burnley, who are nine points ahead of the Cottagers. So this is Fulham’s last chance of survival.
Rescuing just one point at the Craven Cottage after going down at half-time all season, Fulham have the worst home record in all of England’s top five leagues, winning only two games scoring just nine goals, and earning ten points in all of the 2020/21 campaign. Fulham are the only team who have lost all of their home matches after conceding first.
Burnley needing a win to secure Premier League status
Sean Dyche’s Burnley will be looking for a win at Craven Cottage to secure a fifth consecutive Premier League season. The Clarets’ recent form is not better than their opponents losing four of their last five games. Their only win in those five games against Wolves by 0-4 though was their biggest away victory in the top flight since November 1965.
The Clarets have been entertaining in their away games with an average of 2.59 total match goals per game on the road. A goal in the first 15 minutes of their away games has been seen often for Sean Dyche’s team’s recent matches. This was the case in five of their last six matches, contributing to a league-high 12 goals in this period in away games this season.
Key Stats
Fulham vs Burnley Prediction
This match is Fulham’s do-or-die match of the season. If they win, they will still have a chance to stay in the Premier League, if they lose they will be relegated. Scott Parker will be looking for a last-gasp solid performance from his team, especially in attack as they need to score to have any chance of winning the three points.
Burnley will be happy with a draw here. We expect Sean Dyche’s team to sit back and rely on counter-attacks, which can be useful for the Clarets as Fulham will send as many players as possible forward to score that they might leave spaces in the back.
For our primary prediction, we are backing both teams to score.
For our secondary prediction, we are backing a low-scoring game as the tension and importance of the game may restrict the teams tactically and thus not many goals may be scored.
