Bookmaker Ratings: Prediction One – Handicap (-4.5) for Schwartzman – 1.80.
Bookmaker Ratings: Prediction Two – Total Games Under 21.5 – 1.75.
Schwartzman is a very difficult opponent when it comes to Diego’s clay-court game. We believe that the upcoming match should be an easy walk for Diego. Especially since he leads 2-0 in head-to-head encounters against Elias Ymer.
Schwarzman has already played two finals on the clay this season. We expect Diego to do just as well in Bastad. All the more so as his tournament schedule is not the most difficult.
Schwartzman played four grass tournaments last month, including an exhibition tournament in Hurlingham. He did not make much progress, the only exception was at Wimbledon, where he won one match.
However, no one expected Diego to do much on this surface. On clay is another matter, on which he has had very good results this season.
In February, Schwarzman reached the finals in Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro. In April, he reached the quarter-finals in Monte Carlo and the semi-finals in Barcelona.
At Roland Garros, the world #14 went three rounds before losing to Novak Djokovic (1-6, 3-6, 3-6).
Schwartzman has lost four of his last six matches on the clay in Bastad.
Ymer started off with a win over Daniel Altmaier (6-4, 7-6). Oddly enough, two sets were enough for him. However, in the second, Elias overpowered Daniel on a tie-break.
Remarkably, Altmaier had eight break points, but Elias never gave up his serve.
In early July, Ymer lost to Corentin Moutet (4-6, 3-6) in the first round of the Challenger in Salzburg.
At Wimbledon, Elias entered the main draw as a lackey loser but lost in the first round to Cristian Garin (3-6, 5-7, 4-6).
In June, Ymer reached the final at the Challenger in Parma. In the decisive match, Elias lost to Borna Coric (6-7, 0-6).
Ymer has registered three wins in his last five home matches.
In 3 of Ymer’s last 5 matches, less than 9.5 games have been played in the first set. We offer to bet on “1st Set Games – Under 9.5” with odds of 1.85.
In the last five games, Schwarzmann has played three tie-breaks. We offer to bet on “Tie-Break – Yes” with odds of 2.41.
