In Cincinnati last week, she could not make it through the qualifiers. In the decisive round, she lost to Marta Kostyuk (1-6, 6-3, 4-6).
On the other hand, at a small tournament in Concord, Frech reached the quarterfinals.
Frech also fell in the Challenger in Poland earlier this month, losing to 378-ranked Kristina Dmitruk.
Magdalena Frech has lost 5 times in a row to opponents from the top 10.
