Chelsea in seventh heaven
After Chelsea’s dominant display in a 3-0 away victory over Leicester in last Saturday’s early kick-off, they then demolished Juventus 4-0 at home in the Champions League making it seven goals in two games without reply.
This is without Romelu Lukaku, who returned to the bench against Juventus but was an unused substitute.
Full-back Reece James is Chelsea’s top league scorer with four goals, while opposite full-back Ben Chilwell is in second alongside Mason Mount and Lukaku with three each, showing Chelsea’s ability to score from all areas of the pitch.
⚡️ “There’s a spark there and hopefully that spark keeps getting bigger.”

Carrick’s at the wheel
After Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s sacking after the 4-1 defeat to Watford, Michael Carrick was named as interim manager. He won his first match in the Champions League 2-0 away to Villarreal.
However, this looks set to be his one and only match in the Premier League with Ralf Rangnick rumoured to be installed as manager in time for Thursday’s game against Arsenal.
The clean sheet gained at Villarreal will boost confidence but for a United team whose 21 league goals conceded so far is the worst bar Norwich City and Newcastle United, there may be nothing they can do against Chelsea’s smothering attack.
Chelsea vs Manchester United predictions
This game may have come far too early for Carrick to stamp any real mark on this United side prior to their trip to the league leaders. Miracles of course have happened but after United took a 4-1 hammering against Watford, can you really see it?
Chelsea to win at half-time came in last week. However, the stat about Chelsea scoring nine goals in the first 30 minutes of matches this season makes this longer odds bet tempting. In United’s last four losses all teams scored their first within 30 minutes. Odds of 7/4 for Chelsea in the 30-minute betting are too good to ignore.
Though United will be buoyed by their 2-0 midweek win, Chelsea is a different proposition. Chelsea to win to nil came in last week, we can’t see any reason why it won’t again.
