The Parisians only need a draw to progress to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League, and that’s what we think they’ll get. It’s the best bet, rather than a value one, and historical results are on its side. PSG have taken on Chelsea in the past two knockout stages, and two of the three past meetings have ended in stalemates.
PSG lost focus and were held to a bore-draw in their last Ligue 1 match, against Montpellier, at the weekend, yet Laurent Blanc had rotated his squad almost entirely, with the view to secure that essential result at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea, meanwhile, drew with Stoke on Saturday, and, barring that 5-1 FA Cup win over a below-strength Manchester City, have only been winning with one-goal margins.
