Bayern Munich need to improve to get back in the series
Bayern will think they deserved to win the first game of this series as they were leading by 19 points in the third quarter. Olimpia Milano can still improve
Milano have done their job in the first two matches and travel to Munich with a commanding 2-0 lead in the series. The Italian side had to fight hard in the first match but thanks to Sergio Fernandez’s inspiration, they managed to win by one point. Milano have now won five straight matches in all competitions and have scored over 79 points in all those games.
Milan were second in the Euroleague in three-point shooting accuracy during the regular season with 41.6% but coach Ettore Messina’s team dropped that averaged during the first two games as they made just 13 of 45 from the arc with an average of 29%. Of course, Messina will be delighted that his team still won those two games but if they raise their average from the arc they are in for a clean sweep.
