Arsenal to bounce back?
After a confidence shattering 4-0 defeat to Liverpool last Saturday, Mikel Arteta’s men will be looking to bounce back against a Newcastle side now dead last in the Premier League.
Arsenal had very few goalscoring opportunities, however, they should find these in abundance against the Premier League’s leakiest defence.
With Arsenal’s league best home record to fall back on and understanding that the likes of Liverpool are currently playing in a league of their own, playing against the bottom side couldn’t have come at a better time for the Gooners. Will it be as simple as that though?

Encouraging signs despite now propping up the table
Although this was Eddie Howe’s first game in charge, he wasn’t present due to Covid-19. However, he should make the touchline for this one.
Despite a result last week that sent Newcastle to the bottom of the league, there was plenty to be encouraged about. Scoring three goals for starters, the last time that happened was in a 4-3 loss to Man City back in May. They also took 23 shots on goal, which is a season high.
Newcastle faces a tricky test at the Emirates, a test they would likely have folded under if faced a month ago. However, judging off Eddie Howe’s first match in charge, the remit is to attack and if the Arsenal defence is still having nightmares about their last match, it could be Newcastle’s day.
Arsenal vs Newcastle United predictions
Newcastle matches involve the second most goals in the league, averaging 3.5 goals per game. Prior to Arsenal’s last match, Arsenal had scored 13 goals in their previous eight matches.
Newcastle have surprisingly only failed to score in two Premier League matches so far and last week’s attacking display against Brentford was very encouraging. Arsenal play much better at home than away, in 83% of Newcastle matches both teams have scored. Based on this, we recommend backing both teams to score.
Due to Arsenal’s record of scoring goals against Newcastle, Newcastle conceding the most league goals, and the games involving these sides last week producing ten goals between them, we also recommend backing a goal in both halves.

Arsenal team news
Granit Xhaka remains on the sidelines with his knee injury.
After a 4-0 defeat last time out, Arteta may ring the changes this week against Newcastle. Kieran Tierney and Martin Odegaard are both competing for starting berths.
Newcastle United team news
The only definite casualty remains Paul Dummett, though Fabian Schar did come off injured last time and could be a doubt.
Goalkeeper, Karl Darlow’s game against Brentford wasn’t his finest and Martin Dubravka may be considered.
