This is definitely the biggest game in the Russian Premier League this weekend. I think whoever loses this is destined for relegation whilst a draw is not good for either side.
As mentioned in all my previous pieces on Mordovia, they have come back from the dead and now it seems Anzhi want to follow suit. The team from Dagestan picked up a huge victory last time out against mid-table Rubin Kazan to give them a decent chance of staying up as they are now only 2 points from safety.
Mordovia know that if they win this game then they are the most likely to survive out of all the candidates for relegation. They also have the advantage of being on a good run at the moment, despite an expected loss to Zenit last time out, and a goalscorer in Evgeny Lutsenko.
Unfortunately for Anzhi, it is probably too late for them to find any sort of consistency which their rivals Mordovia have done and I cannot see them getting anything from this match. The Saransk side managed to defeat fellow relegation contenders Kuban Krasnodar (as I predicted) in their last away game and I expect them to inflict similar damage on Anzhi this weekend.
