Andrey Rublev will play against Diego Schwartzman in the first round of the Vienna Open. The match will start on October 24 at 18:00.
Bookmaker Ratings: Prediction #1 – Handicap (-5) for Cerundolo – 1.685.
Bookmaker Ratings: Prediction #2 – Total Games Under 21 – 1.61.
Schwartzman has been failing at one tournament after another in the autumn part of the season. He left the recent tournaments in Tel Aviv and Antwerp after their opening matches. We believe that Diego will be out as quickly as possible in Vienna as Rublev is in excellent form at the moment.
Rublev is now in fine form. Andrey reached the semi-finals at indoors in Astana in October and won the indoor hard-court tournament in Gijon. We believe Andrey will be just as good in Vienna.
Rublev won his fourth title of the season in mid-October, winning the tournament in Gijon. This lifted him to 8th place in the rankings and significantly improved his chances of qualifying for the ATP Finals.
Andrey only dropped one set to his rivals in Gijon. In the first round, he had a difficult match against Ilya Ivashka (6-3, 5-7, 6-4).
In the final match, Rublev unexpectedly easy defeated Sebastian Korda (6-2, 6-3). Also worth mentioning are confident victories over Tommy Paul (7-4, 6-3) and Dominic Thiem (6-4, 6-4).
Rublev won 14 of his 16 indoor matches this season.
Rublev has eight wins in his last ten matches as a clear favourite.
Schwartzman, meanwhile, has already fallen to 19th in the rankings. It must be admitted that the Argentine has had a weak second half of the season.
The only exceptions in the last five months have been the Cincinnati Masters and the US Open, where Diego won two matches each.
At the other tournaments, he has at best reached the second round. Diego is currently on a five-match losing streak.
Schwartzman said he made a mistake in the summer, going straight from Wimbledon to the clay tournaments that left him with absolutely no time to rest.
Schwartzman had lost six times in their previous seven meetings with the top 10.
