This is Kudermetova’s third final of the season. Her two previous losses came against Halep in Melbourne (2-6, 3-6) and Ostapenko in Dubai (0-6, 4-6).
Veronika Kudermetova only had to play three matches in Istanbul to reach the final. Second-round opponent Bogdan did not show up for the game. On her way to the final she beat Marina Melnikova (6-2, 6-2), Ana Bogdan (Walkover), Anna Bondar (7-6, 7-6) and Sorana Cirstea (6-3, 6-3).
