Red Bull driver Sergio Perez summed up the results of the sprint before the Austrian Grand Prix, saying that at the end of the race did not attack to the maximum in an attempt to catch up with George Russell in fourth place.
Well, in qualifying I got caught not respecting the track limits. So I think at the end of the sprint it was better to drop the pace a little bit, but be sure to stay on the track.
Overall, though, we had a good race, got back on track pretty well, had a good start, and didn’t get into any trouble. Although it was not easy – Lewis tried to attack, many of the pilots were active fighting side by side, in particular in the third corner. I think we have squeezed the maximum out of the situation, for us it is a strong result.
I also enjoyed the fight, enjoyed the overtaking. Unfortunately, when I overtook that group (Hamilton, Schumacher, Magnussen), I couldn’t overtake the next one, they were too far away. In any case, I’m looking forward to the race tomorrow, I’ll try to get a good start, and then we’ll see, said Perez.
