Arsenal’s pursuit of Toulouse’s rising star Fares Chaibi seems to have hit a roadblock, as the youngster appears to have agreed to a summer transfer to Eintracht Frankfurt. The 20-year-old, who has enjoyed an impressive breakthrough campaign this season, has caught the eye of several top clubs across Europe with his versatility and attacking prowess.

Chaibi’s eight goals and six assists from his position as a flexible forward have not gone unnoticed, with Arsenal reportedly expressing interest in the Algerian international last year.

However, it seems that a move to Germany is now on the cards for the promising youngster, with reports claiming that he has reached a ‘verbal agreement’ with Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Bundesliga outfit has been in search of attacking reinforcements, and Chaibi’s performances have impressed their scouting team. The prospect of playing in one of Europe’s top leagues under the guidance of Eintracht’s experienced coaching staff could prove to be a decisive factor in the youngster’s decision to join the German outfit.

Although nothing has been made official as yet, it appears that Chaibi’s future lies in Germany, rather than the Premier League. Arsenal, who are currently leading the pack in the English top-flight, may now have to turn their attention to other targets as they look to bolster their attacking options for the next campaign.
