Xavi has cautioned his Barcelona squad against becoming complacent in their pursuit of the La Liga title.
Barcelona manager Xavi has sounded a warning to his team against complacency in their La Liga title push. Following their 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid, which saw Ferran Torres score the winning goal, Barcelona have opened up a comfortable 11-point lead at the top of the table with only eight league matches remaining in the 2022/23 season.
Despite their impressive lead, Xavi has urged his players to stay focused and not to get carried away with their position. According to reports from MARCA , Xavi stated, “The team doesn’t feel like champions, and if they do, I’ll tell them we’re not.” He added, “Our position is privileged, but nothing has been done yet. Rayo Vallecano in our next game will be tough.”
Barcelona’s early exit from both the Europa League and Copa del Rey has left them with only the La Liga title to focus on. Xavi and his team will undoubtedly be determined to secure the league title, but they will have to continue to perform at their best to see off any potential challenge from their rivals.
