Wout Weghorst has explained his decision of choosing no.27 at Manchester United.
The Red Devils’ newcomer made a loan move to Old Trafford until the end of the season.
The attacker will be part of Erik ten Hag’s side that are currently competing both in domestic and European competitions.
After his official transfer, Weghorst asked to wear no.27 at the club. Being asked about his choice, the player explained: “Two and seven will make nine, of course – a striker’s number.”
The no. 27 number belongs to Alex Telles who is currently out on loan at Sevilla.
“I first had to ask him if that was ok, so I said to them that was for me important and then in the end there was no problem so thanks to him also. So yeah, I go for the 27 and actually it’s just because I had a good feeling with it,” Weghorst added.
