Lionel Messi sends a short message to his fans across the world ahead of what would be his second World Cup final when Argentina take on France.
Former Barcelona forward Lionel Messi has sent a message to his fans worldwide ahead of Argentina’s World Cup final game against France on Sunday.
Messi has been arguably the best player in the competition, having scored five goals and provided three assist in six matches so far.
The PSG forward was instrumental in Argentina’s run to 3-0 win over Croatia in the semi-final, scoring one goal and setting up an assist.
He’s looking forward to replicating his top form at the biggest stage on Sunday against France and has urged his fans to have ‘faith’ in the Argentina team.
“My message for the fans is to have faith… We won’t abandon you,” Lionel Messi said ahead of the final.
Furthermore, Argentina coach Scaloni is reportedly planning on playing three centre-backs against France after he practiced with Nicolas Otamendi, Lisandro Martinez and Christian Romero at the back on Friday.
The last time Argentina had three centre-backs was against The Netherlands in the quarter-final and the game ended 2-2 in the regular time but Argentina won the tie on penalties.
