Japan still on the second place are now 1 point behind Spain as the loss against Costa Rica sees the Americans at same point with them.
Germany now stands as the one risking Group Stage departure after they failed to find a winner for the second time following 1-1 draw against Spain.
Japan will take on Spain on their next encounter while Costa Rica will have their fates in their hands when they battle Germany.
