Arsenal have received a major boost with the return of defender William Saliba to the gym. Saliba, who has been integral to Mikel Arteta’s campaign this season, suffered an injury during a clash with Sporting Lisbon which has seen him benched since.

The 21-year-old limped off the field during Arsenal’s Europa League defeat following an awkward fall on his back. Subsequently, he has not featured for the Gunners, causing his absence to be felt in the West Ham match where the team blew a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 at the London Stadium. This loss could prove costly in the title race.

While it has been suggested that Saliba’s return might come too late for the trip to Manchester City, he remains optimistic, targeting his comeback around the final games of the season, according to reports by the Evening Standard.

In a recent Instagram post by fellow Arsenal teammate, Mohamed Elneny, Saliba was spotted on an exercise bike, sending fans into a frenzy. In the video, Elneny shouted, “Willy, vamos” to which Saliba responded by pointing to his head, showcasing his mental fortitude and determination to make a comeback.

Saliba’s return to the squad could not come at a better time for Arteta’s men as they look to clinch the Premier League title.

His partnership with Gabriel at the heart of defense has been solid, and his absence has been deeply felt.

With his return to the gym , Arsenal fans can now look forward to a stronger defensive line and better chances of clinching silverware.
