West Ham United aims to bolster their squad with a new right-back during the upcoming transfer window, with reports suggesting their interest in securing the services of Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Wan-Bissaka, who made the switch to Manchester United in the summer of 2019, has proven to be a reliable presence for the Red Devils. However, the 25-year-old found himself with limited playing time under manager Erik ten Hag in the first half of the 2022-23 season, prompting speculations of a potential departure.

The tide turned for Wan-Bissaka in the latter part of the season, as he successfully won over the Dutch manager. West Ham had expressed interest in the defender during the summer transfer window, but the move was blocked by Ten Hag.

Despite the initial setback, the Hammers are reportedly contemplating a renewed pursuit of Wan-Bissaka’s services in the upcoming winter transfer window, recognizing the urgent need for a new right-back according to Football Transfers .

Wan-Bissaka’s current contract with Manchester United is set to expire in the summer of 2024. Although the Red Devils have the option to extend his stay by an additional 12 months, there’s a possibility they might consider selling him if a suitable offer arises.

West Ham, keen on securing a quality right-sided full-back, could present a compelling offer to Manchester United. The urgency is further heightened by the contractual situation of Vladimir Coufal, who is already 31, with his contract expiring in the summer of 2024.

Despite having an option for an additional 12 months, West Ham doesn’t seem inclined to extend Coufal’s stay. Additionally, uncertainties surround the contract of Ben Johnson, the other right-back in the squad.
