Former Manchester United attacker, Wayne Rooney has hailed Erik ten Hag on handling Ronaldo issue.
Rooney shared that he is impressed with the way ten Hag handled Ronaldo’s saga as the Dutch man decided the Portuguese won’t feature for the team again.
Ronaldo handed a news breaking interview to Piers Morgan where he exposed a lot about the club and how the manager who doesn’t respect him clearly deserves no respect from him.
The former Real Madrid man was well aware what he was going into by granting that very interview but following his statements it appears the interview was less of a selfish motive.
However, former teammate; Wayne Rooney has taken sides as he backs Erik ten Hag on his ability to stamp his authority on the issue.
“I think Ten Hag has done really well,” Rooney told talkSPORT.
“He’s come in and stamped his authority on the team.
“He’s shown his strength and his character with how he dealt with Cristiano [Ronaldo] at times with the stuff he’s been up to,” the DC United manager said.
