World #5 Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece commented on his performance at the Madrid Open on social media.

Tsitsipas reached the semifinals, defeating the Frenchman # 156 Lucas Pouille (6-3, 6-4), #20 Grigor Dimitrov (6-3, 6-4) and #8 Andrey Rublev (6-3, 2-6, 6-4), before losing in three sets to the world #3 Alexander Zverev (4-6, 6-3, 2-6) of Germany.

“You can leave Madrid, but it will never leave you,” Tsitsipas wrote.

The final in Madrid, which has a prize fund of €6,744,165 this year, takes place today, May 8. Alexander Zverev and Carlos Alcaraz Garfia, who beat former stars, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, will be fighting for the title.
