Folarin Balogun’s loan spell at Reims in Ligue 1 has attracted interest from several European clubs, including two Premier League sides, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The 21-year-old striker has been in exceptional form this season, leading the league in goals and catching the attention of several teams across the continent.

Despite the interest, Arsenal has decided to protect Balogun and monitor his development in France. The Gunners will make a decision on his future in the summer, with a number of options on the table, including a potential transfer to a Premier League club, an Italian team, or a move to Borussia Monchengladbach.

Italian Journalist and Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano   confirmed to Caught Offside   that quite a number of teams were interested in the 21-year-old striker.

“Arsenal never thought of Balogun back in January, they wanted to protect him as Reims loan has been an excellent decision,” he told Caught Offside.

“Some Italian clubs wanted Balogun in July and also two Premier League clubs and Borussia Monchengladbach but France was the best option. Arsenal will decide his future in May/June, not now.”

It’s no secret that Balogun’s impressive form in France has left Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta with a tough decision to make. The young striker is competing with Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah for a place in the Gunners’ starting lineup and is clearly leaving his mark in Ligue 1.

It will be interesting to see how the situation develops in the coming months. Balogun’s future is sure to be a hot topic in the transfer window, and there will likely be no shortage of suitors for the talented young striker.

Only time will tell what step Arsenal will take with Balogun ahead of next season, but one thing is for sure, his performances in France have certainly caught the eye of many clubs across Europe.
