Tottenham left-back Destiny Udogie is poised to ink a fresh long-term contract, as confirmed by Fabrizio Romano.
The negotiations between Spurs and the promising defender have successfully concluded, with club sources indicating that the agreement is all but finalized.
Udogie, who was initially acquired from Udinese for a transfer fee of £15 million last summer, was loaned back to the Serie A side for the remainder of the season. Upon his return to Tottenham in the summer, the 21-year-old has impressively solidified his position as a regular starter under the management of Ange Postecoglou.
Romano shared the latest developments on Twitter, stating, “Tottenham has reached an agreement with Destiny Udogie on a new long-term deal for the Italian fullback. Club sources confirm the deal is in place and sealed — understand it’s all done. Spurs are very pleased with Udogie, and a salary increase has been agreed upon.”
Having started 14 games for Spurs, Udogie has not only showcased his defensive prowess but also contributed offensively with a goal and two assists in the league.
