Reports suggest that Tottenham Hotspur is keen on securing the services of defender Clement Lenglet on a permanent basis.
Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly pursuing the permanent signing of Clement Lenglet. Renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Spurs are set to engage in talks with Barcelona, under the leadership of Xavi, to discuss the future of the talented French defender.
While Lenglet remains high on Tottenham’s wish list, the decision ultimately rests with Daniel Levy, the club’s chairman, who is considering other potential targets alongside the Frenchman.
Lenglet, who arrived on a season-long loan from Barcelona last summer, made 35 appearances across all competitions. However, his performances, alongside Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez, failed to leave a lasting impression. Tottenham’s defensive woes were evident as they conceded a staggering 63 goals in the Premier League last season, highlighting the urgent need for reinforcements in the backline.
