Tottenham aims to address squad concerns in the January transfer window, particularly focusing on securing a replacement for Harry Kane.
Despite ongoing speculation linking the club with various midfielders and defenders, the standout player they are keen on signing is Santiago Gimenez from Feyenoord, according to information confirmed by Ben Jacobs on Last Word on Spurs.
Speaking on the podcast, Jacobs revealed, “Tottenham are assessing if they can bring in a wide forward or a goalscorer. I think a really concrete target is Santiago Gimenez, but that’s one for the summer. There will be no exit in January, or if there is, it would involve a considerable amount of money for Feyenoord.”
Gimenez has been in exceptional form in the Eredivisie this season, featuring in 16 games and finding the net 18 times. The striker’s impressive performances have caught the attention of Spurs, who are eyeing him as a potential solution to their striking needs.
Manager Ange Postecoglou has openly expressed the club’s ambition to make strategic signings in the upcoming window to build on their positive season. However, the task of finding a suitable replacement for Kane is acknowledged as a challenging one, emphasizing the significance of securing a player who can seamlessly fill the void left by the prolific English striker.
