In the ever-shifting landscape of Premier League football, there’s fresh speculation surrounding Everton’s Ben Godfrey, with both Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United reportedly showing keen interest in the talented defender.

As reported by 90min, the Premier League duo is closely monitoring Godfrey’s situation at Goodison Park as the January transfer window approaches. This interest is not unwarranted, as the 25-year-old has seen minimal action on the pitch this season and is slipping down the pecking order under the management of Sean Dyche.

To put things in perspective, Godfrey has played a mere one minute of competitive league football this season. Given this lack of playing time, along with just two years remaining on his current contract, Everton is facing the pressure to secure transfer funds. As a result, it appears that Ben Godfrey is now a prime candidate to depart Merseyside when the winter transfer window opens.

Eddie Howe, the manager of Newcastle United, is believed to be an admirer of Godfrey’s talents and might welcome the opportunity to bring him to St James’ Park in January. The potential affordability of the deal only adds to the appeal. Meanwhile, Tottenham is also in the mix, with manager Ange Postecoglou facing a defensive crisis after Mickey Van de Ven suffered a significant hamstring injury in a recent match against Chelsea.

With both clubs looking to bolster their defensive options, Ben Godfrey’s future is poised to be a focal point in the upcoming transfer window, promising intrigue and anticipation among fans and pundits alike.
