Barcelona crashed out of the Champions league and despite claiming to still have Xavi’s back, the Barcelona board are in no doubt ready to move on should the former Midfielder fail to end the season with the La Liga trophy.

The Catalans have already taken a gap lead at the first position and have an advantage to end the season at the top but the Board are not blind to the fact that a title run against Real Madrid could sometimes produce unpleasant memories despite how close they are. They have already planned for an alternative should things turn south.

La Liga side are already weighing up Thomas Tuchel as an alternative and to spice it all up, the German has now been spotted take Spanish classes ahead of his potential job which could only be determined by what future holds for Xavi.

The 42-year-old currently holds a 59.6% win rate as Barca boss, losing 12 times, drew 34 times and winning 57 games unlike Thomas Tuchel who prides a 60% win rate on his last job.

Tuchel will continue his Spanish lessons while Xavi gets the time to try turning things around.
