In an exclusive interview with Portuguese newspaper Record, highly sought-after forward Viktor Gyokeres has quashed transfer speculations linking him to Premier League giants Arsenal and Chelsea. The Swedish international, who has been in stellar form, dismissed the swirling rumors ahead of the January transfer window.

Gyokeres, who made a noteworthy move to Sporting Lisbon in the summer after an impressive stint with Coventry City in the Championship, has made significant strides in just a few months. Despite being a transfer target for Arsenal and Chelsea, the 25-year-old made it clear that he is content at Sporting and not contemplating a move elsewhere.

Speaking to Record, Gyokeres expressed his satisfaction with his current club: “I’m very happy here, and I don’t care about any interested parties at the moment. I’m enjoying every day here and not thinking about what’s going on around me. Yes, there’s talk of big clubs, but for now, it’s just news. That’s all.

While both Arsenal and Chelsea could benefit from a clinical finisher like Gyokeres, he remains resolute in his commitment to Sporting: “I think it’s a bit like when Sporting came in to sign me… I’m very happy here, and I don’t care about any interested parties at the moment.

When questioned about the possibility of staying with Sporting, Gyokeres affirmed, “Yes. This is where I want to stay.” Despite the allure of major clubs, the Swedish forward is focused on contributing to Sporting’s success and ensuring his stay remains a steadfast commitment to the Lisbon-based club.
