Steven Gerrard has opened up on Liverpool’s chances for a turnaround in the second leg of the Champions League.
The Reds faced a shocking 5 – 2 defeat to Real Madrid in the first leg of the European top tier on Tuesday evening.
The second leg is set to take place on March 15, 2023. Ahead of it, ex-Liverpool star Steven Gerrard has shared his thoughts on the next game’s possible outcome.
“It’s a game of football and anything can happen, you know that but you look at the individual players you’ve got, the quality and experience, it’s an extremely big mountain to climb,” he said, via Anfield Watch.
“I know I’m more optimistic than most when it comes down to Liverpool – I’m biased as well, but it’s Real Madrid,” Gerrard added.
