Son Heung-min has spoken out on his silent celebration after scoring his first goal vs Leicester City on September 17, claiming he was so ’emotional’ that he ‘could not move’.
Tottenham celebrated a massive 6-2 victory over Leicester City at home, where the Korean scored a hattrick in a 15 minute span after being subbed on from bench.
Spurs superstar had been going through a difficult start of the season after failing to score in his first six Premier League matches.
Speaking to The Times (via 90MIN), Son has made an admission on his muted celebration after scoring his first goal of the match:
“I couldn’t move. I was so emotional with myself. I didn’t know what to do. Just stand still, look at the sky, look at the crowd. In my head, all my family came into my mind. All the staff, all my team-mates, all the supporters.
“That’s why I stood there and then just had a moment to think.” added the 30-year-old.
