Gunners have been said to be exposed against the defending champions, Manchester City in the Premier League title race but Sergio Aguero believes the North Londoners are just big enough to bring a strong fight to the show.

Arsenal have remained at the top of the Premier League table since climbing up early into the 2022/2023 season. A close chase from Manchester City means the Gunners can’t afford to slip as they just 2 points ahead.

A decisive fixture that could have changed the course of the title race was the tie between City and Arsenal but due to valid reasons, the tie was postponed to a yet to be decided date.

The league leaders face Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday and according former Manchester City goal poacher, the gunners may still produce another victory to remain at the top as he perceives them a threat to City’s title hopes.

“Arsenal have had a great performance in this stretch and Man City, despite the setback against Liverpool, remain close. We’ll see what happens after the World Cup,” the Argentine said.

“Arsenal have a deep squad. More than anything because they know what style they want to play and it shows that they are hungry for triumphs.

“There is also the possibility of incorporating in the winter market and if Mikel Arteta sees that he needs some reinforcement – as other teams will too – then he will ask for them.

“But since you’re asking me about Arsenal, look at what happened a few days ago when Bukayo Saka was injured. Reiss Nelson came on, a player that no one had in their plans – it is clear that Arteta did – and he was the star of the match.

“So I don’t think Arsenal have a short squad.”
