TSUPIS will be run under the control of First Bookmakers SRO management. President of the organization Oleg Zhuravsky, who is also honorary president of Liga Stavok betting firm, has said his bookie is the only one that has joined the new processing centre. However, within one or two weeks the centre will be joined by other bookmakers, including Winline.
Starting from February 15, Russian players who registered at TSUPIS website and passed the verification procedure, will be able to legally make online bets in the country. The centre will be regulated by federal legislation of Russia.
In December, Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed a bill that will enforce bookmakers operating in Russia sponsor sporting events where local sportsmen take part. The law is expected to be introduced by the middle of 2016.
