Lakers point guard Russell Westbrook is seriously considering signing with Excel Sports Management, according to insider Quinton Mayo.
A few days ago, Westbrook ended his partnership with agent Tad Fouche, with whom he worked for 14 years.
In explaining the decision, Fouche cited “irreconcilable differences” and noted that he and Russell no longer have a consensus on whether the point guard should remain with the Lakers for the final season of his current ($47 million) contract.
The founder of Excel is agent Jeff Schwartz. The agency’s clients include athletes such as Nikola Jokic, Khris Middleton, Kevin Love, Kemba Walker and Tiger Woods.
