Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger expressed confidence in his team’s performance after holding Manchester City to a draw in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final at the Bernabeu. Rudiger downplayed Man City’s threat, suggesting they were “not dangerous” during the match.

Madrid took the lead in the first half thanks to a spectacular long-range strike from Vinicius Junior, but Kevin De Bruyne’s equalizer leveled the score for the visitors. While Erling Haaland, the prolific Norwegian forward, had a quiet night and failed to add to his impressive tally of 50 goals this season.

Speaking to beIN Sports after the game, Rudiger commented,

“We scored a bit late, so we feel like we could have achieved more. Nevertheless, we have a chance in the tie, and we can approach the return leg in Manchester with confidence.”

He continued,

“Ultimately, Man City did not pose a significant threat to us tonight. While they enjoyed possession, we anticipated that would be the case. However, their goal by De Bruyne showcased their quality.”

When asked about his team’s prospects for the second leg at the Etihad Stadium, Rudiger responded confidently, stating,

“We are Real Madrid. We are always confident.”

Rudiger’s comments reflect Madrid’s satisfaction with their performance in the first leg and their belief in their ability to finish the job in Manchester.
