Riyad Mahrez has sent a warning message to Liverpool ahead of the EFL Cup meeting.
The two Premier League giants will face each other in Round 16 of the competition on Thursday evening.
Ahead of the game, Mahrez has opened up on his team’s success in the Carabao Cup matches, claiming they have won it three times since his arrival at Etihad.
The City man believes his team can beat the Reds and progress to the next stage.
“It’s going to be tough, like always against Liverpool – a very good side, but a good game to play in our first one back. We have to be ready to play so we can show our best. Hopefully we can play a good game and progress to the next round [of the Carabao Cup]” Mahrez said, via City Xtra.
