Rio Ferdinand has shared that it’s actually disappointing that Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori wasn’t included in the World Cup squad amid many other names.

Southgate made huge decisions not to include certain names as he rather picked ones he believes are currently better than the available ones with everyone understanding that the manager did what he perceived best for the team.

However, a shocking pick comes on snubbing Fikayo Tomori who helped AC Milan win the Serie A title last season and Tammy Abraham who netted 27 goals in the last season for Roma.

Speaking about the pick, former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand said. “I’ve got to be honest, I wasn’t surprised Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori have been left out,”

“They play in Serie A, I don’t think that is the issue. Tomori I think will be massively disappointed given what he has been achieving at AC Milan. Playing Champions League football, winning Serie A last season and being an integral member in that team.

“But these guys have to use this as fuel now for the next stage of their career.”
