Reece James has provided an update on his fitness following Chelsea’s Champions League win over AC Milan.
The Blues continued their unbeaten run under the newly-appointed coach Graham Potter celebrating a 2 – 0 victory over the rivals on Tuesday.
Jorginho’s and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s goals secured three points and first place in Group E in the European top tier.
During the match, James had to be taken off after picking up a knee issue. This rose concerns over the defender’s fitness and possible availability for the upcoming World Cup with England national team.
“We’re hoping he’ll be ok. We’ll need 24 to 48 hours. We’ll know more after that,” Chelsea manager Potter said of James’ injury right after yesterday’s clash.
The player himself shared a hopeful update on the situation on Twitter.
“Fingers crossed it’s not a bad one. Love for all the messages, I appreciate you all,” he wrote.
