Reece James has taken to social media to share his thoughts as it was confirmed that he will miss the World Cup 2022 due to injury.
It was confirmed on Wednesday that James will miss the Qatar 2022 due to having suffered a knee injury during Chelsea’s 2 – 0 win over AC Milan in the Champions League.
Following the news, the Chelsea defender took to Twitter to send a message: “Devastated.
“The minute I injured my knee, I knew the turnaround to make the World Cup would be tight, but I always felt it was possible. I’ve worked harder than I ever thought I could to give myself the best chance of going and truly believed I could have helped the team.
“I appreciate there was risk on both sides but it was one I was willing to take. Good luck to the boys. I’ll be back soon. Stay safe and sending love.”
World Cup 2022 kicks off on November 20 and will end on December 18, 2022.
