Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric has been dealt a major injury blow ahead of the Copa del Rey final against CA Osasuna, and his availability for the UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg against Manchester City is also in doubt.

, has reported that Modric has suffered a hamstring tear that will keep him out of action for two weeks.

Modric’s injury comes as a significant setback for Real Madrid, who will be without the experienced midfielder during a crucial juncture of the season. Despite his advancing years, the Croatian remains a key player for the club and an integral part of Carlo Ancelotti’s plans at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The 37-year-old midfielder was seen icing his left thigh after being substituted in the second half of the recent game against Girona. Although the injury was initially thought to be minor, it has since been revealed that Modric’s discomfort has worsened, and scans have confirmed a hamstring tear that will keep him out of action for at least two weeks.

This injury means that Modric will be absent from the Copa del Rey final against Osasuna and could miss the UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg against Manchester City, depending on the severity of the injury and his recovery time.

In addition to missing the upcoming cup final and potentially the crucial Champions League tie, Modric will also be sidelined for the team’s upcoming La Liga matches against Osasuna and Real Sociedad.
