Former Manchester United interim manager has reacted to Cristiano Ronaldo’s comments of him not being a proper football coach.

Ralf Rangnick has spoken out hours after Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo criticised him during his interview with Piers Morgan.

Man United resigned Ronaldo from Juventus last year in a bid to help Ole Gunnar Solskjaer take the Red Devils back to the top.

The Norwegian boss was sacked as a result of poor performances and Ralf Rangnick was appointed as interim manager to steady the ship at Old Trafford.

Rangnick failed in his attempt to guide Manchester United to a top-four finish, and United, under his watch, endured their worst season in the Premier League in recent decades.

The German boss fell out with the majority of the players, including Cristiano Ronaldo, with several reports claiming that the former RB Leipzig manager used old-fashioned tactics with the United players.

Ronaldo called out Rangnick in his interview, stating that the German isn’t a coach but a sporting director and wouldn’t have heard of him if United hadn’t employed him.

The five-time Ballon d’Or told Piers Morgan: “If you’re not even a manager, how are you going to be the boss of Manchester United? I’ve never even heard of him.”

Rangnick left Manchester United at the end of last season to become the head coach of the Austrian national team.
