Having secured Christopher Nkunku, Chelsea are aware of the pressure they now put Sterling on as he wouldn’t want to lose his place.
The former Manchester City man is in no doubt one of the best players in the Premier League currently but a change of environment has seen his form drop to an extent.
Sterling was a key part of the English squad that represented in the World Cup although they failed to make it to the semi final stage but having scored important goals reintroduced him to the ears of the public.
However, his place at Chelsea have now come under scrutiny following Nkunku’s signing. It’s not a secret anymore that should Sterling fail to perform, Nkunku will have to step in for him when he finally arrives Stamford Bridge.
Sterling on the other end believes he can retain his spot in the club and has already resumed training with the squad.
